The LeeShore Center

The LeeShore Center has been providing comprehensive, trauma-informed crisis intervention services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and other interpersonal violent crimes for 41years. The agency was incorporated in 1977 and officially opened our emergency shelter facility in 1985.  We continued to evolve and grow, adding a transitional housing facility in 1990 and receiving state-approval for our Batterer's Intervention Program in April 2000.

Services include:  gender inclusive emergency shelter (34-beds); transitional housing (25-beds); crisis intervention; advocacy and support to victims and their families; safety plan assistance; 24-hour crisis hotline; court-based legal advocacy; walk-in services; emergency transportation; programming for in-shelter children and youth; Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) advocacy and accompaniment; Disability Abuse Response Team (DART) advocacy; in-house and community support groups; referrals to a wide-range of community partners and resources; prevention outreach, such as our Healthy Relationships/Violence Prevention program to public school children and youth grades K-12, and a 36-week state-approved Batterer's Intervention Program for men who have been court ordered due to use of violence in an intimate relationship.

Our service area covers a 620 square mile area within the Kenai Peninsula Borough, with a population of 37,218 and includes the communities of Kenai, Soldotna, Nikiski, Sterling, Kasilof, Funny River, Ridgeway, Kalifornsky, Clam Gulch, Cooper Landing and Hope.  There are no fees for service, with the exception of our Batterer's Intervention Program, and access to service or shelter is not denied due to gender, sexual orientation, mental health, disability, or substance abuse issues.  All services are provided in a trauma-informed approach, are empowerment based, and culturally respectful.
